Discover the South-eastern of Sicily, enjoy amazing views of both coastal and inner countryside sceneries: the shooting locations of the famous TV series “Inspector Montalbano”, the Isola delle correnti, the southernmost point of Sicily (a point of Europe facing Africa), the heart of the most suitable terroir concerning Nero d’Avola wine and then ride toward Monte Lauro massif, the highest summit of Hyblean Mountains (almost 1000 mt above sea level); savor the most enchanting countryside as you never visited before.

STAGE 1: riding along the most southern coast in Europe

This itinerary starts in Scicli, follows the Irminio river valley and gets to its mouth.
The cycle trip goes on between Marina di Ragusa and Marina di Modica along the most southern coastline in Europe.
The area is flat and easily covered by not trained people.

STAGE 2: from Fornace Penna to the “Terra dei Pantani” (Marsh Land)

Back on track on Sampieri bay, also these stage runs along the coast up to Pantani Longarini, the first stop for the migratory birds coming from Africa.

Anche questa seconda tappa percorre zone pianeggianti ed è facilmente percorribile anche da persone meno allenate.

STAGE 3: from Ragusa beaches to Noto

The route skirts coast up to the far south-east, Isola delle Correnti, then the cycle path goes up the Ionian coast, till arriving at Marzamemi.

If you want to go further, you may want to enter Contrada Buonivini, the cradle of Nero d’Avola. The easy routes run through vineyards, citrus and almond groves offering spectacular views.

The final point is Agribike Info-point, near the marvellous Vendicari reserve.

STAGE 4: from Noto bike grill to our Association

We set off at Vendicari reserve for insight into the Hyblean countryside to Frigintini, passing near Modica and return then to Scicli.

This route is almost entirely through the countryside, in this case, the elevation gain is quite challenging, therefore we recommend it to trained people.
